The Carefree days of summer are upon us, it is no time to play shy.
Not only am I a true surfer girl, I have been a hairdresser and make up artist for a few decades... I believe in soaking your hair in sea water and not thinking twice about taking every moment of enjoyment from summer activities! Your hair and skin should mesh with your lifestyle. You should NEVER have to amend your life to fit your hair needs!
Here are some carefree tips:
SPF
This is the most important step. Protect your skin with SPF.... wear rah guards, hats and sunglasses- stay hydrated....Seek the shade of an umbrella, get out of the sun between 12-3pm.
Never think twice about getting your hair wet jumping into the water, or sunning yourself!! Just adjust how you use products, and which products you choose.
Here are a couple suggestions:
LEAVE IN YOUR CONDITIONER OVERNIGHT I would much rather see the use of sunscreen leaving conditioners and a time just leaving conditioner and straight out shower and sleeping in it!
DON'T COMB OR BRUSH YOUR HAIR AFTER SWIMMING
This is for curly or wavy hair- I know it sounds strange, but try it, especially if you have any wave or curl to your hair. Hair dries quickly on the beach and the texture is amazing. Combing and brushing - even with spray in conditioner recks the wave pattern and the effect of the salt.
